possibly....but u lose some 'filter' area to bring air into i would say, and hot air is all over the engine, not just on one side...but u could give it a try, i won't flame u for it.

I don't like how it is so close to the filter, but at least it is on one side and the way our SRIs work, the forward facing part (where most of the air comes from) is left open to recieve air. My personal opinion, it might help keep some of the heat away, but the gains will be very minimal (maybe even not show up if you were to dyno it) It's up to you.
