Thanks Greddy! I guess the consensus is the scoop does not look good without the vents. I would have liked to get the vents also, but if I cutout the hood for the vents it will weaken the hood because I will have to cutout too much of the ribbing. I guess I will have to wait a while and buy a hood from the pros.

I think it looks nice. I think people are too focused on comparing it to a real evo hood. Of course its a cheaper, custom modification, so it wont look as good. But all in all, for only $100, it makes ur car look nicer, and makes it unique. in my eyes, mission accomplished.

not trying to be an ahole, but whats the point in putting an evo x hood on a gts or other type of lancer? Is it just to make it look like an evo or Ralliart?

The whole reason the Evo X and Ralliarts have these hoods is too cycle outside air over the turbo and push hot air out the two vents. Unless you have a turbo, it really serves no purpose.

Because it looks good, and a cooler engine Boosted or N/A is preferred. But overall it's just for looks.

to the op. for what its worth i personaly like it! Everybody and their mother would have side vents i think it looks good without it. Side vents on a gts may be a bad thing since right under the driver side vent is where the intake box would sit along with your mass sensor which isnt a big fan of water. The stock box might be ok but if your plans are a sri it might get a little wet under the vents. stick with what you got. I wish i would have gotten that color of car instead of black.

It looks good I like it.

Its easy for ppl to "evo this, evo that," maybe they should have bought an evo and stuck with the evo forums...Doing custom work is harder than just paying a company to develop it, respect.

I am just wondering where the DIY is. This thread is very misleading. But I do think it looks good. Your buddy does clean work.

I kind of like the look of the single "mini vent" its subtle yet effective. But to each their own, after all i'm going for a carbon fiber RRM turbo hood after i finally get a turbo (gonna be quite a while i think)
