Update:

David does not want to reimburse me the shipping costs because he says its company policy...

This is the first company to ever say that to me when its their fault. Wow...

So its MY FAULT for ordering the CORRECT cam and I received the wrong one.
And it is on my expenses to ship it back... when he's the one that sent me the incorrect camshaft! That is some BS.

I've dealt with so many companies that sent me the wrong item. And they've paid for shipping! All of them!

They also even sent me the correct replacement without the need of me shipping the item back to them first, just so I can have the item right away.

I've emailed David several times about it, he always ignored that topic and answered all the other topics. I emailed him back, lets see what his response is.

I mean if it was $10-20 I could care less... But shipping to Australia is pricey.

I should have known...

Update:

camshaft was shipped 2 days ago and it came in today.

I'll have to take a look at it when I get home, hopefully it's the right one.

Bad news:
David never replied about the refund.

Thats quite a story. A few times I been considering getting some things from RPW, but now that I read your story I'm just gonna say the hell with them because what they did to you is total BS. You're in Socal right? Why not just do business with RRM instead since they are local and you wont have to deal with shipping, not that they'd pull RPW BS on you anyway.

I've done business with RRM several times. I have all of their suspension upgrades.
The only downside is RRM does not offer camshaft like RPW does.
The camshaft they offer is a minimal upgrade, and they dont even want to tell us buyers what profile it is...
Also, it requires no tune If it doesnt require a tune, then obviously dont expect major gains.

I installed the camshaft this morning.
Pretty simple install, I love working on the lancer. Everything is easy access.

I didnt want to remove the head again just to install the camshaft, too much work.
So I just moved the fuse box temporarily to be able slip it out towards the driver side.

Other than that, the idle is really aggressive. I am currently idling at 1k rpms and it is still lopey. I haven't fine tuned the idle yet, because I still need to fix my laptop.

The infamous P0300 code popped up, as I expected.

The engine is really noisy with this camshaft and valve springs.
I lost about 10 mm hg of vaccuum. I used to idle at 20 mm hg, and now it idles at 10 mm hg.

When driving its actually smooth, the RPMs just want to keep climbing
Cant wait to see what it can do.

Glad to hear its working out. Totally agree with you on the RRM cams. I love the suspension stuff they make for our cars, a little pricey but well worth it. But I dont think I would buy drivetrain upgrades from them. Good luck with the cam!

Yeah I get what you mean, but there is a reason its not that aggressive. RRM made the cam to be a singular mod that requires no extra modifications that must accompany it. This means that like you said you wouldn't require a tune, but also wouldn't do harm to the valve springs and such either. The more aggressive the cam the weaker the stock valve springs will become and therefore will need to be upgraded. But I do agree that its a minimal mod, but I'd still take that over RPW if they pull that kinda BS. I hope you are satisfied with your cam though. It sounds mean. And good luck with contacting David.
