Substitute for Nitro
now ive heard of other ways of getting the same boost as if u where spraying nitro. any body heard of other alternatives? i heard of 2 and now im kinda confused why nobody else has heard this.and also they are much safer for the engine than spraying nitro. first one is water...sprayed to intercoler or something like that...other is pure oxygen straight to the engine...i heard its the same as nitro and safer...to others who know...or tried this...or are curios...start posting

sure u can always just get a turbo.....i know of others that would rather SuperCharge the car then Turbo...but thats another thang...i wanted to know if anybody knew of the so called...safer for the engine thang...spraying PURE OXYGEN....or WATER....if anybody heard of these thangs...post it up

I dont know too much about pure O2...but i know that there's been applications with water and nitrous used to cool the intercooler. If you look closely at kontras pimpin ryde, you'll notice some small piping and a nozzle in the middle of his intercooler...that's a nitrous sprayer. I know that in the evos there's a watercooling sprayer. In fact there's a manual mode that can be toggled from the cabin which enables the driver to spray continously *racing* as opposed to the normal intervaled squirts. Kontra, hope you dont mind me usin yer ryde...its only cuz we all got so much damn luv for yer lancer.

damn, thats a pimp *** ride he got...ive seen some of his posts...but not his car...i must say that car looks bad ***...tweeked out to the grill. yeah...that is the sprayer...my friend here has a celica...he had the Nitro Kit but doesnt want to isntall it till he gets his celica a full "tune-up" such as tighten valves engine check up and all that...his next step is supercharging it..he told me that he will get 2 ****-pit switches one to open the tank so he doesnt have to do it manually...another to "purge" out old nitro during racing...or "normal" driving...PLUS, he got his kit to "spray" when he hits hard on his accelerator...causing the nitro to spray into the intercooler....but im trying to get him to go all the way with the Pure O2 hes not sure about it...wich is why im trying to do some "reserch"

Oxygen wont do a thing. Like nitrous, oxygen is an oxydizer, non-flammable. All nitrous does is cool the air down to make it more dense. More air density = more horsepower. Thats why Kontra has a the N2O being sprayed directly on the intercooler.

yeah he can do it if you wanna blow up your engine... pure oxygen is extremely extremely explosive when mixed with gasoline and an ignition... hell i think o2 may even be explosive by itself... always see those no smoking signs oxygen in use at my work

...nitro is also explosive..by itself and the pure O2 i think was shot directly to the intercoler, and the H2O was shot directly into the engine. any new info? ill talk to Bobby about his "Projek Celica Re-Birth" and about the charger..ill talk to him about it see what path he decides to choose...he has a 00 Celica Manual, tons of modifications under the hood..not much on the exterior only exterior modifications ....are Eyelids and high grip high temperature tires and extra coats of "high Temperature" gun metal paint. clear reflectors other than that...no more mods in exterior...but like i said...tons of interior and under the hood...

Nitro(methane) is VERY explosive, but I highly doubt your friend has a setup capable of running fuel of that caliber. Nitrous on the otherhand IS NOT FLAMMABLE, I don't care what you saw on the fast and the furious, it is an oxidizer. AKA non-flammable gas, I know because I work with this stuff. Pure O2 will do NOTHING AT ALL and as for shooting H2O (water) directly into your engine, there is a little something called hydrolock, due to water ingestion and it can lead to bent rods, valves and other expensive stuff.
P.S. O2 is an oxidizer also, no smoking signs are because to ignite O2 needs an already lit ignition source, and a spark plug does not count. There is something called UEL ( Upper-explosive limit) and LEL (lower-exposive limit) and between those two O2 and probably N2O are explosive and I dont know how volitile they are but those two figures would be so hard to calculate for a combustion chamber it would be impossible, just trying to time the RPM's and timing could not advance or retard because in a size of the chamber is so small the slightest change could change the parts per million on which the UEL and LEL are based.

ok new info his nitrous kit has arrived and is second guessing the nitro. still no word on the supercharger, i think he wil go for the nitrous and keep the same set up as the nitro. dual switch pedal ignition sprayer...well keep me posted as i will

You guys were probably not racinging in the 1970's so you will not remember when water injection came out. but yes there have been racers injecting a water mist into the intake for years to reduce detonation. there are probably still kits around. I prefer high octane gas and plenty of boost. Nitrous oxide when used properly is not instant death for the motor. I used to use a wet shot on my 454 ss (NO2 and gasoline injected at the same time). She live a good long life and produced tons of torque and horsepower. I do not think I will be doing that to my EVO. Good flow in and out of the motor,good fuel management,beefing up the internals and some head work will be there every time you hit the throttle and no empty bottle to make excuses about. Yeah it's a lot of money, but if you cannot affort it you probably cannot afford the EVO either. For about ten grand in add onns and work you have a car as fast or faster than one that costs twice as much and more with the same handling. Offenhauser was producing 800 hp + out of two litres thirty years ago! Kick *** and take names........So far Al seems to be the king, but many are hot on his tail.
squirting pure oxygen into the motor could be very very dangerous. oxygen is explosive, i would not want to be driving around with a tank of that in my car ever. oxygen is even more explosive then hydrogen and nitrous. dont believe me? take a balloon full of pure o2 and hold a match to it
and since its an oxidizer, it would rapidly accelerate the burning of anything else that was on fire. the oxygen would probably ignite in your intake if there was any type of open flame coming back out of the motor into the intake. very very bad idea.

pure O2 sprayed to the intercooler, might not catch on fire...for a quick cooler engine. any ideas of a super charger for the 00-03 Celica

are we talking about spraying ON the intercooler or INTO the intercooler? spraying on will do nothing that regular air wont. spraying into wont do anything unless you add more fuel. pure oxygen will not run cooler by any means... it is used for welding.
