Question Nos

What do you guys think about NOS? What is the biggest shot our engine could handle without blowing ourselves up. Also would you recommend Zex, Venom, JG Edelbrock, or NOS? not that im looking into it, just wondering what everyone's take on juice is.

Bottles are for Babies

I would suggest about a 50-60 shot, the lancer motor's compression ratio is 10:1, which means its high compression, which means don't run a high shot or you will blow your motor. unless you have forged pistons, upgraded rods, etc.. internal ****, then you can run a higher shot. im probably wrong but thats what i've come to learn

Yeah boni, i dont like juice either, but it's much cheaper than that lil thing u got on ur car.

Yea, my real question was which bottle would be best and what kind of shot the stock engine can take. hopefully someone can answer this. do they use NOS in ralleys? i have no clue.

No nitrous at rallies. For a turbo car, you're gonna want a wet shot (NO2 + fuel) and that's probably only to help the turbo spool quicker and then you can just keep it in the red. Dry shots (NO2 + air) are for NA'd cars and the like. I would recommend nothing bigger than say a 60 shot of nitrous. I do know of one Lancer from the old Registry that I believed used either a 50, 60, or 70 shot. LancerOnNos was the name. However...he also did report problems with his clutch, which I'm not sure but I can say that perhaps that it was due to the nitrous.

With that 10:1 ratio, I think the biggest shot I'd run is like a 50. I've seen engines with lower compression ratio and similar displacement melt pistons with 50 shots.

I'd also NEVER run anything other than a wet setup on any car. The dry setuos are cheaper, but less effective, and less safe.
