So the trans went in the 03 Lancer oz. I swapped the engine and trans out of a donor car with 1/2 the miles (good deal). It just seems wrong to scrap the old one. I definately want to go with turbo, but being that I'm not in a hurry and have it on a stand is there something in particular that I could do to give it a little more power.

 

The 4G94 engine is difficult to extract power from without going turbo. Mods like intake, exhaust, header, ported intake manifold and throttle body will only get you like 10-15hp. The engine does not respond well to mods since it's already bored and stroked to the max as a 4G9x series engine. It's turbo or nothing.

You may want to look at engine swap options to give yourself a better platform to build from. You can swap in a 4G64, 4G63 or perform a DOHC head swap to the 4G94. There is abundant information to be found in many threads if you do some searching.

 

I found a 4g63 for $3,500 with a trans and turbo. Im not sure if it has any other components with it. I'm still waiting for a reply, but is that a fair price? It came out of an Evo 8 with 35k miles. Thanks for the info also. I'm used to playing around with a 350 so this 4 cylinder feels like a go cart engine Ha!
