evo 8 = 15k STOCK GOOD LUCK FINDING A MODDED ONE FOR THIS PRICE and this is if you get a lucky deal

rally art $5,000 depending on year, motor swap 1,000, turbo kit 3,500 "this includes getting an evo 9 turbo or getting a used fp turbo"

hp with motor swap 250 - 350 hp easily, stock evo 275 to the crank I will give you a higher number

so this myth is busted

FAIL

bro you do realize maintaince for evos is alot higher than a rally art

you have to factor that evos are awd, the motor is alot more expensive if it blows, if oine tire pops you have to change all of them.

the rally art is front wheel drive, and you can find a decent 4G64 for 1300 or more than a 4G63. I have a turboed lancer es and my maintaince is alot cheaper than if I bought that evo I got a few months back.

If I drop in the same motor thats built and put a better turbo on there I can at least beat the stock evos and keep up with some modified ones. the only way I will surely get an evo is if I plan on making a car rated to 500hp+ but I understand what your saying.

im pretty sure this guy is not planning on going above 400hp

Yeah, nobody has ever told me to just save up for an Evo. Why did'nt I think of that. By the time I do that we wont have any more gas, and cars will be flying. I was actually looking at a 3000gt. I could afford that after all my damn bills

Thumbs up

Let me just say again that I never expected to match the performance of the Evo with a Lancer. My reason for an engine swap would be to have a better more reliable platform to build on. That and making sure at least Prius's cant keep up with me. I dont care for the awd I'd rather have rwd if anything. I live in Florida and we dont get too much snow and ice. I wont be drag racing in it either. Ha! I'll bring the Camaro out for that. The car is already paid for so factoring in that price is pointless. Let me just say that the resale value sucks compared to what my wife paid for it. 180k + miles and the only problem was the trans. (and the damn o2 sensor of course), so it's been good so far. I got a donor car with minor front end damage for $700, and it only had 74k miles on the motor so I went ahead and swapped it too. I really just wanted to know if I could get much more power out of the spare 4g94, but it seems like a bad $/power ratio. So now I just want to know what engine I should be on the look out for. Thanks for all of the advice

You're gonna want to swap a 4G6x series engine. That can be the 4G69 from the Ralliart, the 4G64 from the 3G Eclipse or the 4G63 from the Evo. Each has a different cost and each has different potential. Figure out which one will give you what you're looking for stock vs. with bolt-on's vs. turbo'd.

+1 and then $5 for every time they said well I sold the car and got a evo and I m sorry you were right

To the op: so are you saying you cant afford to set aside $200 or a little less a month for the next year 1 1/2 ? =$3,600.00 is a good down payment toward a used evo where it d be $200ish for a payment. I promise you its worth every dollar.
