Cat + Exhaust manifold, recommendations
I need to change my front cat on my 2003 lancer oz so I will change both cat and exhaust manifold. Any recommendations?
I am looking for something to pass the emissions without any problems and if possible to gain some power.
Here are couple of options I found online, does anyone have any experience with any of these:
Eastern Front Catalytic Converter, Part #: EAST40674, $365

Catco Front Catalytic Part #: cat1086, $412

Benchmark Catalytic Converter, Part #: BEN2461, $343

Depending on the intensity of the emissions test, you can pass with just about anything as long as you have an O2 Fouler. Changing the Cat won't offer noticeable power gains and in some instances, might rob you of power due to loss of back pressure. In that instance, I'd roll with OEM and I have a Catco OEM Cat Converter. As for Exhaust Manifold, I roll with RRM's 4-1 Exhaust Manifold, but there's other brands like RPW that offer Exhaust manifolds with the downpipe, etc. But unless you plan on going with a full catback exhaust, RRM's should provide sufficient Power gain for an affordable price.

Is this Catco OEM Cat Converter that you recommend:
Catco Front Catalytic Part #: cat1086, $412

Well that's the front cat converter (Header/exhaust manifold). All that is is an OEM replacement. It won't give you any power or anything of that nature. I suggest the Rear Cat Converter, which should be somewhere in the $120-150 range.
