2003 Lancer OZ front catalytic converter
2003 Lancer OZ front catalytic converter
I need to change 2003 Lancer OZ front catalytic converter. I know that there was a recall on it but I missed it as I had too many miles. So now I need to buy, so would you recommend oem or that one is actually faulty catalytic converter which caused the recall. Here is the link for it:

Or it would be better to go with some aftermarket like this one, eastern catalytic:

or benchmark:

Thanks a bunch

I would recommend switching to an aftermarket header that eliminates the pre-cat. Then put a CEL eliminator in the secondary cat to get rid of the p0420 code. I have both for sale in the sale thread if you're interested
the precat is built into the header, i know cause mine is failing too. a new oem unit is around 350-450$ and its 49/50 state legal so if u live in a emmis controlled state ( like i do in cali ) you have to have it....
since u live in seattle, here is a link to the dmv in your area that explains it http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistr...emissions.html
im in same boat as u and i rather stay legal and not get busted
