i hear a whitslin sound when i drive in light rain wit my cai, and when i start my car. sounds worst when i put it into gear and step on the gas.sometimes it wont make noise. whats up wit that? i mean i dont go over puddles and **** but y is the sound still comin out?

 

is it like an actual whistle sound or like an electronic whistle sound coming from your engine bay? i get this kind of rally-car whistle when its super cold and my car just starts. its pretty fun to listen to..kinda reminds me of a supercharger 'wheen'

 

i guess its not electronical. but the sound, is it a bad sign? what is the cause of this problem, or is it normal? help!!!!!!!!!!! im scared

 

you could just be hearing the intake sucking. My friends SRI on his MX-6 makes a whistle when you have the hood open. How bad is the light rain? For some people a light rain might be a medium rain for someone else (IE a person from seattle telling me he's in light rain would be a freaking monsoon to me, i'm sure) If water levels get fairly bad, the CAI might be picking some water up, but you would feel it in the engine as a hesitation to accelerate. I personally wouldn't be too worried about the whistle, unless it progresses and becomes louder, etc.

 

at certain throttle points i get a whistling sound from the cai. not at low throttle or wot. somewhere in the middle.

 

its more of a squeeky sound. dont kno if i spelt that right but anyway it makes that noise. sometimes it makes it sometimes it dosent
