so heres the deal my 2004 es timing belt shredded and broke i need to know where to line up teeth on crank/ cam i already have it tdc and on all marks but my belt was ripped in half so i had no starting ref for tooth count PLEASE HELP

 

You do know the valves are probably bent, right?

just out of curiosity how many miles were on the car and is this the first replacement?

 

well I figured it out. I was truly lucky, I pulled the head off and checked valves no damage!!!!. Iwas able to pull intake and head together so i saved a little $ on gaskets. got it all put back together purrs like it did brand new. Next time i wont slack and will change belt on time. it has 126K..... what a slacker!

 

Good to hear internals weren't slaughtered.

Preventive maintenance is a must.
