Washed Car Now Wont Start
Washed Car Now Wont Start
Ok so i did a noob thing today...never washed my engine bay decided i try it out today...i did not leave the car running when i did and did not cover anything with foil...I KNOW STUPID...well after i washed it i left the car running for almost 10-15 mins while i dried the car off...then it sat for maybe 2 hours before i used the car again...it did fine i had to start 3 times and no problems...now after 5 mins from starting it the third time it completely died on me...i try to start it but it wont...it sounds like it wants to crank over but it isnt...i have about 12.5 volts when tested the dome light dims when i try to start the car...i took the plugs out and there seems to be a little water from it...you think its the spark plugs being wet...wd40 and some compressed air should take care of the problem...this is the first time i had any problems with car and i have owned it for 9 years now
checked it and no water...checked the cord that connects to the coil packs and they are showing 12 volts i believe...so im assuming the coil packs arent working...but im not sure how to test...no one has yet to have this problem with their cars...i must be the stupidest person on this forum
Sounds like a dead battery and might have nothing to do with a wash , you said it wants to start but doesnt ? You said it sounds like it wants to crank over but doesnt? Sounds to me like either a dead battery or dead starter .
Try giving it a jump with some jumper cables .

fix it yet?
should be battery related.. specifically the grounding point on the car for the battery.
disconnect, wirebrush/scrape it.. reconnect..
u have power cuz its connected.. but not a good enough connection to start the car.. typical from wire exposure or any type of short in the electrical system curroiding the ground connection point.
