Damn, Turbo beat me to it. In any case, I'd suggest Buschur . You can see if they still have the sale going ($115). It's a real high-flow cat, not just a straight pipe.

which means nothing.. other than that its legal id rather make my own peice of metal and cause smog than pay 150$ for a high flow cat

Well, since there is very little difference between the two performance-wise, I'd rather have the one that's legal. I don't enjoy getting tickets.

well buschur tested there car, dyno'ing everything, first they put on intake, than test pipe , than exhaust, i think, its on here somewhere.

i'll look for it and post the link if i find it

EDIT: i put headers, but meant test pipe...my bad, also, it was a test pipe, not a hi flo cat

PS for probleminfected:

This thread concerns the high-flow cat, not the intake.

sorry for the hijack, but

i do trust ebay and i do have the ebay intake !!! work just fine ! and i saved over $100

also ps to Blacksheepdj: eat ****, captain obvious.

i think most of the members on this board need to take some automotive classes

an intake is an intake is an intake, if they all preform the same. plus with gains of only 3 hp it isn't worth to spend a lot of money for something that does the same thing.

Blacksheepdj prove me wrong with dyno results

and highflow cats are great if you want to stay legal and have the funds to do so

but if you want cheap go on ebay and buy a test pipe for half the pipe, it is the same thing

a pipe, an o2 bung, and two flanges easy ! not worth over $50

sure some things on ebay aren't good, but if you know what you are doing you know what to buy and what not to,

Blacksheepdj, you must not know what you are doing. but go ahead and pay over 100% and even 500% (intake) more for the same thing

there is so much disrespect on this forum.

every 17 year old thinks he/she knows everything

i don't mean to offend some of you on this board, but i do for others

also PS i'm a master technician for ford

again sorry for the hijack

Ooooooooooooooooookkkkkkaaaaaayyyyyyyyy.

You trust Ebay. That's fine. I don't. That's fine too. My choice. I don't need to back that up with dyno results because it's MY opinion. I wasn't aware that we had to defend our feelings nowadays.

I'm sorry if I bothered you. I was just pointing out the fact that you posted a picture of a product we weren't discussing. I had pasta for lunch, I'll pass on the ****. Also, while I'm talking about me, I don't need any automotive classes and I left 17 a while ago, but thanks. Congrats on working at Ford. I would love to work in the automotive industry, but I chose to work at a public library.

I want to stay legal and can afford to buy parts for my car, so I choose to. Anyone who wants to buy a test pipe is fine by me. I know what I'm doing just fine and will buy the parts that I see fit. And I did not show you an ounce of disrespect. If you feel that this post is also an attack on you, I apologize. I will be ignoring any future insults.

truce,
DJ

haha, wow i agree

i just posted the link so u could get some real life HP #'s when adding a test pipe, haha

anyways ia ree...ill be getting my intake off Ebay, prolly the strut bar/rear strut bar etc etc....why spend more?? oh i dont got cruise control and i dont have that gold piece other peoples strut bars hit

i agree....3 hp at the crank isn't going to lower ur 1/4 mi. time anymore than it being 4 degrees colder...anyways, lets all play nice and increase our knowledge somehow...

a test pipe is for off road vehicles and track cars, there is no need for one to go on a lancer, go ahead, put one on, think your cool, and you can say your wide open, but then your just going to be like all the dirty civics that shoot black soot out as they try to keep up with me
