Well can't get any simpler than that, I bought a cheap header/downpipe from ebay and this happened, the flange of the downpipe is not straight resulting in a gap between the header and downpipe, the question is, could an exhaust shop fix this and if they can how much could I expect to pay, or should I just ask for another one from the seller, he doesn't want to give me a full refund he is only proposing a 20 dollar refund and I can keep it to get it fixed or an another one.

 

Where is your gasket? Yeah its cheap but I'm betting gasket and torque will seal that up.

 

The gasket is there and I forgot to mention one of the threaded holes is stuck (can only get the bolt a quarter of the way through)

 

I think the real question is who's the seller so no one else buys from this guy

I'd say ask for another. He pays shipping. You bought an item that was free from defects right? What you got is not even going to work. An exhaust shop can fix it but I'd expect to pay no less than $60

 

FFFFFFFF well I learned my lesson the hard way, next time I will pay more for a "quality" part.

So I sent it back to him it should get there tomorrow, and he will exchange with one that doesn't have defaults, he actually responded quite quickly. But still avoid buying from ebstores.

 

i'm with ryancd, tap the threads and torque that baby down...

it's not that bad, besides even if the build quality is not the best you are saving money...

 

did you receive it that way? or did it warp that bad? either way i bet that the welds are garbage and the header will eventually crack. did the downpipe atleast come with a flexpipe

 

why would it crack? it's not like there's a turbo hanging off of it...

 

received that way, I'm not in a rush and don't want to risk my 80 bucks so might as well get one that works right the first time around.
