this has been covered before, but yup, its a gimmick, its a 50 cent resistor that you put into your MAS. simple as that.

true that, and yet there are always going to be people who will buy one ... so might as well just sell them and make 20$ off an idiot like these people do.

heres the deal, if i remember right...

its a small resistor placed into ur air flow temperature sensor...if u place it on that line it lowers the reading...making the engine believe it has colder air....so it dumps more fuel.

it does work...but under certain circumstances i believe can have bad effects like if it lowers it to much...and you get worse gas mileage =) lol

yea the only side effect would be lower fuel economy, after all your just screwing with injector time and pulse length, how ever i'd much rather get a piggy back sys. from rrm

One guy from the Mirage board installed one of these (btw you can get em at Radip Shack for about 99c) and essentially it fried his ECU.

But to answer the rest of the questions in the thread. Yes it can add some horsepower, probably 5 or so... Short version of the theory is that rich generates hp, 12.5 to be exact as far as rich. It's the peak output condition for a gasoline engine. So if the resistor gets you to that point then you make more hp... and the resistor CAN get you to that point by making the car thing it has cold enough/dense enough air to dump fuel to hit that mark.

Later.

Steve
