EGR Selenoid Valve?

I changed the catalytic converter and Vacuum Switching Valve -- EGR, cleared the computer and the Vacuum Switching Valve -- EGR is still showing an error (check engine light)?
It's possible the new valve is defective but not likely.
Any suggestions how to fix this?

I had the engine light come on with the same code a couple years ago. Replaced the egr, cleared code but it came back on shortly thereafter. I took the intake and TB off so i could get to it easily and just sprayed carb cleaner in the egr ports and let it sit for a few min and after disconnecting the coil packs, crank the engine to flush out the carbon gunk. It will be a mess so be aware but 2 or 3 times on that and everything went back together and has worked perfectly for 4 years since.

definitely, I hosed the ports on the block three different times and got in there with a wire brush and high pressure air spray. Clean out the gunk carbon deposits, as if it's clogged, nothing's getting to the EGR
