You guys DO realize to hydrolock the car, your intake has to be submerged about 80% in the water, right?? I had an Injen intake on my car and I had it without the bypass valve in thunderstormy Florida. Some days, the intake would be dripping from splashes from puddles and from the wheels, but that is not enough to make a car hydrolock. 90 % of fears of hyfdrolock, I think, are unfounded.

Back to the original post, most of the common initial mods (H/I/X) are best used and are most maximised in conjunction with each other. So you will seegains with just the intake but to maximise it, you would want the whole H/I/X.

yes because i assume when you wash your car with the gun you arent driving it making the car intake air.

and you can get the bypass valve on ebay for cheap.

the bypass is just a part that you put in that isn't solid, so water that is taken in can escape. you probably don't need it, but some people hit problems. it also lowers the HP.

yeah i've hit hundreds of puddles with me AEM CAI and no problem just dont huge like a MASSIVE puddle and stop the car so it starts sucking up the water. haha

oh yeah you'll love the CAI.. if you dont plan on doing any exhaust upgrades soon, at least bring it into a muffler shop and for 20$ they'll remove the catalytic convertor for ya, it helped out
my CAI TONNES!! (as long as you dont live in cali where they care about emmission laws)

Thumbs up Installed the AEM CAI!!

Just had to mention that today I installed my AEM CAI and I love it. I love hearing it when I get to about 3500 RPM. I can definately feel a difference and with my short shifter I put in yesterday, my car is on its way. I am saving up for a muffler now and maybe the header. I definately recommend the CAI!
