Interested in buildin up my motor!!!
Aight guys...I already have alot of show stuff done to my car, last thing I'm waitin on is body work to get done, paint job, and my 18" Enkei rims to get in. Well now that I'm good in the "looks" department, I want to get some major motor work done and i need
with parts and stuff for it. Now I already know that Road Race can provide me with the header, pistons, throttle body, and piggy back ECU. But I was lookin for places with more motor parts. I want to build it up and ready for stage 2 turbo. If anyone knows of any places that sell performance engine parts and performance tranny parts, please let me know...my car's tranny is still messed up, so I'd really like to get the parts for the tranny ASAP so I can get it back on the road...thanks for everything guys...

what tranny the auto or 5 speed, second if you want rods made you need to start now as they take some time, crower makes rods thanks to billy sending them the dimensions.
Besides rods and maybe an ARP stud kit you are about as built as an engine gets adding the pistons to that.
You could take your head down and have it port and polished by a machine shop that is familiar with engines, most hot rod shops could either do it or recommend you to someone.
If you have the 5 speed, that thing is already pretty damn strong. stock parts are fine, you could always have then cryo-treated to strenghten them. If you have the Auto then you need to either send it to level 10 or some other performance tranny rebuilder.

well i have the 5 speed which is currently broke on my car now and i am frankly tired of fightin with mitsubishi to try and get it fixed through warranty, so I'm gettin it fixed through a local performance trannsmission shop...
If you want a fully built "race" motor, then invest in the rods and pistons. Those will be the majority of the cost right there, relatively speaking. If you have the money, you can have all the good stuff done to your block, when you are putting the forged stuff in, like cleaning of your cylinders, lightening of the crank, balancing the crank, lightening the flywheel, balancing the whol block etc etc etc..... At that time, you could invest in a good ACT clutch to upgrade that transmission. As for the head, if money permits, you can have it ported and polished, with a whatever angle valve job, depending on what you can afford. Then of course the turbo kit and strong boost, with all the bells and whistles (upgraded exhaust, fuel pump, etc etc etc) and you would be good to go.
My advice to you: first sit down and ask yourself what are your goals for the car and what are your HP goals, before doing anthing like this. It does get costly building up your motor ... lemme rephrase that, VERY costly .... and opretty much, how I feel, once you start messing with the internals and going through all the hassle to drop the motor and what not, that is the point of no return, because then, you have officially said, "I am going to keep this car forever, or just lose tons of money."
