hi guys, my name is rolando, im from nicaragua, 3 months ago i bought an auction crashed lancer 2008 lancer de , actually im trying to start the engine but only display system error on screen. the original ecm was destroyed in the crash so i bought a second hand one that fits that model, but seems like if its not recognized, does i have to programm it or what should i do? any help would be preciated thanks,

 

Yes, you will need to take it to someone who has the MUT-III scan tool. And, of course some knowledge. You have to program the ECM to register it to that vehicle, and also program the keys to that ECM. Never replace the engine ECU and the KOS ecu at the same time. Program one at a time.
