reset ecm?

reset ecm?

how do you reset your ecm or whatever the computer thing is called? and should i do this since i have a catback and intake, i heard i should, thanks

ecu? easy, just unplug it for a little, then re-connect it...i believe it's located in front of the passenger side, but you're gonna have to remove the carpeting and stuff like that...i'd check a service manual to be sure first

It's behind the glove box. You don't need to dig around for anything. Disconnect the battery for X number of minutes (10-15'ish) and that'll clear it.

you don't really have to reset it just drive with it on. your ecm will see u have new changes adjust and the CES light will go off

Mine opposed to changing and turning the SES light off changed and turned it on.

Actually, disconnect the battery for about 3-5 mins, and the ecu should relearn itself. If you have a manual, it will stumlble or stall within the first 40 miles before a basic perimeter of your driving style will be learned.

does anybody know if the computer "throws codes" with an led. or is there comething that you need to plug into it to read the codes or see if somethings messed up. i know honda ecu's have the blinking led...
