SRI Installed/ Reset ECU?

Hey all, got a SRI installed on the car (automatic) but i never reset my ECU, seems like its running fine, however should I reset the ECU so the car detects the modification and adjusts accordingly? If so, how do I reset the ECU and any other advice once that is done would be appreciated as always, thanks all.

basically you can just unhook the negative battery terminal for 10 mins, connect it back, start it up and idle for 10 mins, and you should be fine. or like everyone else says try doing a search.

they say to reset the ECU because it needs to learn that more air is coming in so it adjusts your fuel accordingly... you could be ok without resetting, as the ECU will probably learn it, but it will take longer.. however just discon the negative terminal for about 10mins or so, then reattach and let the car idle for 10-15 mins and it should be ok..

the whole ECU reset thing is semi BS the ECU's are dynamic enough that it will adjust pretty quickly. Letting it idle does absolutely nothing but let the ECU learn your idle... so I don't know how that would ever help you.

In all technicality you should always disconnect your battery when doign ANY work just to protect against freak accidents.

As far as the reset... do whatever you want.. it'll make no difference.

one of the primary reasons that you disconnect the battery while installing is so that the CEL doesnt go on. thats the universal solution to the CEL if you never touched your o2 sensors
