Yes, any time you add a performance intake or exhaust part you should reset the ECU. The computer will then reset so that your ecu will not read the different performance of the car as wrong, and throw you a service engine soon light. That is what I was told anyway.

Think of it as a 'Learning' Computer Unit

How about pulling the ECU fuse in the engine bay ?
Someone told me this would work also.

You think I should reset my ecu being that I just installed my Burchur muffler delete pipe ?

all it does is reset the "mileage count" thing to 0 (not the overall mileage of course) and reset the radio preset stations and bass/treble settings along with the clock

you can never reset the mileage no matter how many times you unplug the battery

I hear depressing the brake pedal with the battery unplugged purges any leftover electrons left in the system. Usually just unplug the battery whenever you add something to your car and when your done the ecu is clear.

Do this, unplug the neg batt cable and hold the brake pedal down for 12 seconds, if done correctly your clock will goto 1:00, your cd will eject as well as your radio stations will reset. If the cd and clock are NOT re-set do it again. Just hold the pedal down for 15 seconds to be sure. I have done this over 5 times and know it all to well

or heres another trick, put your key in the ignition and turn it on 3-5 times really fast, to the on postion but not starting the car, that resets the ECU too.
