Fuel Pump. External vs. Internal

As I prepare to up the hp more, I was considering a fuel pump upgrade as a good first step. I know it won't be necessary till a signifigant amount of airflow is increased, but that won't be too far behind. So my question is. What are the benefits of upgrading the stock pump as compared to adding an additional external pump?

How high HP are you aiming? Please don't say +400 HP.

The stock FP should be at absolute max hold up to 200 HP NA, but the stock injectors will fail you first before the pump. Stock injectors can be at most push about 150 HP at most. Just go to RC engineering and plug in 210cc @ 80% cycle . . . injectors can't go any higher, because they get stuck.

There are options: 1) 2g GSX FP 2) 3K VR4 FP 3) Walbro 195 4)Walbro 255 LP or HP (can't remember the exact #).

I'll elaborate more if needed.

250 for now is what I'm aiming for. hmm, so change out the injectors for a higher CFM instead of pump until the turbo app is setup?

So under 300 HP.

The 2g GSX FP should be good around 250 HP (not 100% sure - go ask the DSM'ers); w/ the power wire trick from www.vfaq.com, it can push about 300 HP or so.

The 3k VR4 is a cheap upgrade for DSM'ers.

Both above parts are cheap upgrades and not noisey.

The Walbro 195 is the max that you want to go. I can't remember the exact HP figures. It's good under 350 HP but noisey.

For now, once you get the TC setup, get the injectors replaced at the same time. FP, you can do it now, upgrading it to either GSX or VR4 FP w/o any fuel problem w/ normal I/E setup, but you might run rich at WOT . . . the bigger pump is working the stock injectors hard (not really enough to get them stuck, unless having hile mileage . . . then, clogged injectors will drain your MPG at WOT).

Also, you are definately going to need an AFC of some sort to tune the replacement injector and your TC setup. Otherwise, CE light will pop every time to annoy the hell out of you.

Also, if you're not clear on what I'm saying, ask away. It's very late EST here.
