walboro fuel pump not pumping

Okay, found out my fuel pump is going bad so I had put the 255 I had and swapped it and now car won't start. I hear the fuel pump wining so I took of the line directly off the fuel pump and its not even pumping fuel. Does the new fuel pump need to be primed in anyway? Or maybe I just got a bad new Walboro?

I put my old one back in and now my car won't even start. I heard you have to blow out the return line. I'm going to try that out tomorrow but still need some help with the new fuel pump because my car won't go over 65 in 5th gear because it cuts out. Thanks.

okay, did the blow test and still nothing. The fuel pump is pushing fuel out but my car is still not starting. The car starts for a second and then chokes to death. If i pump the gas pedal it will stay started but it stays around 500rpm. As soon as I let of the gas it will die. I read a forum and the guy was having the same exact problems and all he had to do was blow air through the return line. Any thoughts?

are you sure you got the right pump? 255lph? mine was a bxtch to put in.. it wasn't like i could pop the stock one (WITH BRACKETS) and then take it out, replace it with the 255 (WITH STOCK BRACKETS) back and forth. i had to basically jam the 255 into the bracket and then pop it back in...

also do you smell gas in the back seats? is anything leaking? i doubt it's electrical..?
