ok, i probably sound like a dumbass but i'm planning to do my next oil change by myself. Can someone tell me where the oil filter is on a automatic and what is the best way to jack up the the front of the car to put it on stands? thanks a lot guys.

I usually use the flat part of the frame going right down the middle and then put the jack stands under either:

A) the jack points for changing a tire - you'll see two notches on the outer frame
B) the bottom of each strut

And the oil filter is right next to the oil pan (to the passenger side of it). It'll be black, most likely dirty, and slightly covered by some of the splash guards. You'll see it.

i just jack it up where the towing hook thing is..it's underneath the car and it's like right in the middle..it's kinda squarish with 4 bumps on it.

and the oil filter is to the right of the drain plug, it's easy to spot and get to.
