why dont you just buy a turbo then without engine internals and run a low 4-5psi. you wont have to install new pistons which is way expensive unless you install it yourself.

What about with my car? I was looking at NOS as well and you guys just pretty much told him not to do it until he had FORGED pistons. My RalliArt comes with FORGED pistons stock. So would it be much safer for me to use it then it would for him? I'm just curious. I've never had NOS before so I don't really know jack **** about it.

yea up your octane on gas if you want to use nos...

my suggestion... forged out the pistons and rods, put a turbo in, and set to spray AFTER redline, your car will go ... waaaaaaaa, WAAA, waaaaaaaa, WAAA, your tires will be going nuts, and youll be friggin fast, lol, but dont blame me if your engine bllooows

i dont think anyone is runnin it even on forged... so be first... also you may want to get a wet set up...which is safer or even a direct port... it seems on a dry that most of they n2o is hitting the first and second pistons which are the ones that seem to be going

I've seen too many people blow their Lancer engine on NOS, even at 50 shot with forged pistons. Pistons aren't everything. Rings, rods, the thin walls on the engine block, etc. then there's oil pump issues.

It's true that you could probably get away with NOS with the right amount of internals and 100 octane, but those are famous last words in this forum.

I did not think that our "big brothers" would be so vulnerable to NOS. I do know of "small engine" guys running NOS with little to no adverse effects. Of course they have upgraded the fuel and running right but I know for sure a guy with the 4G93 running a 75 shot with ease. And there was one guy in California, in the weak 4G15 engine that ran a 100 shot (with dyno slips to boot) and did not adversely affect his engine. Of course, I am close friends with one guy who we call 1000 shot and blew his motor but that was an extreme.

But the beginning of this trhead said it all. Do the search and see what you can do to run NOS safely (and IMO, it does not have to forged internals).

hey it takes all types bro! You seem to know your stuff.

AirQuez, it seems that the problem with the 4g94 2.0 is that since it is the same block as the 1.8 and 1.6, it is bored out making thinner walls which are more prone to heat and warp. I don't know the details, but it seems like every person on this forum that uses NOS makes a post a month later about blowing their motor, then a rebuild, then goes turbo.

If your willing to repair your engine if it blows from noz your fine. Go ahead and run a 25-50 shot. Don't ask for our advice if you know what you can handle.

If your not going to be using it everyday like you said then a 25-50 shot will be fine.
I figure you will use it 3 times for a dyno and 3 times every 2 weeks for racing.
If you can honestly use NOZ once in a while like that your fine.

Save money for an evo motor and swap the evo block in.
