Exhaust

Now I know many of you who came to this thread were expecting someone asking about something they could've searched for...well before the flaming begins:

What would be the purpose of buying a $500 catback exhaust when you can just make one from materials found at an autoparts store or a hardware store?

I know that you need Catalytic converters in the system itself, so if you were to buy the same size cats, and have them in generally the same place, what would be the problem with making your own?

Has anyone tried this?

Well, thing is to have an effective exhaust, you have to have it bent in the right places the right way, and have a mostly smooth transition in the places where the pipes meet. This is usually difficult to do by simply bolting and welding things together. I personally have a single piece of pipe running from my cat to my axle, and I know that I could not have done it in my garage. As for the cats... I really don't know if anyone has tried to make their own. I guess that if you were industrious enough, you could make your own test pipe...

basically, jus get 2 flanges a pipe of ur sizing id say 2.25 or 2.5 weld the flanges and youll need to drill a hole for the o2 sensor and weld a nut on it the size fit for the o2 sensor. kinda general but take out ur cat n measure it and you can do it quick. theres people also selling them on here. im sure you can fine someone. Make one if you wan have pride in building ur own car but eh think bout it...Make ur own header hehe...rather buy 1
