You would lose a lot of torque with a straight through exhaust, although that would also mean a considerable amount of horsepower (good for long highways). But as said above, if you get a turbo, you wouldn't lose nearly as much torque as NA. That's me, always thinking NA

As for inspections, most states would allow it as long as you have it set up to go through the exhaust, cats, and mufflers when you test. Ca and NY won't, though, because any part of the exhaust up to and including the cat is usually considered an emissions device.

i could always hvae the air going through the stock exhaust for the launch and then press the switch to the straight thru a few moments later

haha if u ask a few tech people

torque is what makes u accelerate, HP keeps u there....so u want torque all the time or something like that lol.

anyways i could see that being good for a turbo or HP monster v8, dunno about our lil NA 2litre though...

it is called a exhaust cut out. JC whitney sells them for like 50 bucks. I have never seen one controlled by a switch- seen them controlled by a cable you pull- kinda like an old manual choke. But I am with everyone else- you would lose torque, would be good for interstate travel- if you could deal with the noise. Save alot on gas on that long trip. lol
