Hello,

When I purchased my 2003 Oz Rally the previous owner had the following exhaust setup: OBX Header, RRM Straight Pipe (second cat delete) and stock piping thereafter. I thought the rear heat shields were partially to blame, but they are not. Exhaust shop says rasp is getting louder because stock muffler is falling apart internally..

The car has terrible drone and rasp from 2k - 3.5k rpms. I know I need to replace at least the secondary cat, but I don't have the money for that yet.

For the time being, how could I quiet the ricey rasp? Install a long resonator and replace stock muffler with straight pipe? Seems like a cheap route for the time being while I price some cats.

Please excuse my ignorance, I haven't messed around much with exhaust setups.
