the junk yard is saying only a 2008 engine will fit in my 2008 lancer gts 2.0 N/A Fed car. what difference would i have in a 2009 engine or any other year? will they truly not bolt in, wiring differences, ecu differences?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

since no one had a response, i thought i would post my findings.

the engine i purchased was from a 2012 lancer and worked perfectly in the 2008. there was one device under the throttle body that did not get plugged in as it is not on the 2008 wiring harness. car runs with no check engine light. the engine was put it as i found it in a junk yard for $750 and the car had 90 miles on it. it was a government crash test car and had a side impact.
