Engine making noises Help!!

I will try to describe this the best way possible, first the engine ticks there is a ticking noise coming from the engine at idle or low rpms. I know the cars rattles like all hell there is always a noise coming from somewhere plus my suspension is blown, but this is definatly coming from under the hood, I have no idea what it is, can anyone help me out with this. Thanks
Ryan

Mitsubishi has noisy lifters. They do make that ticking sound at idle but it shouldnt be a problem. I bet most of our lancers have that noise. If it is really concerning you go to the dealer and tell em to take a look at ur engine lifters.

Dont take ur mods off, take ur car as-is. If they tell u that the problem is related to the mods, then ask them to prove it. They have to under the Magnuson-Moss warranty act:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/...#Magnuson-Moss

They cannot deny your warranty simply because you have aftermarket products on the car.

I took my lancer in, and was refused service with just a cold air intake. I had like 10,000 miles on my oz at the time. Ended up paying for them to change out faulty spark plugs. Cost me like sixty bucks. The dealership blamed the cause automatically on the intake. Then they made a note in computer system that I had voided my warranty. Unfortunitely I was outta town so I had no tools to fix problem myself.

I know exactly what you're talking about, mine has done it since day one, before I started modding I had it in to the dealer twice, they could find nothing wrong, they said that noise is normal, but can't tell me what causes the noise...jackasses! The only thing I do know about it is it gets worse when you crank the air on. I don't know I ignore it now. If it's the same noise I have, the dealer's just gonna waste your time.

Ha, that's freakin funny, you have a 02 oz rally and a 01 nissan xterra, I've got the same setup for me and my wife. Just a funny coincidence.

My 02 Lancer also have a slight noise coming from the passenger side of the engine bay since the day I bought it (used) with 13k miles. You think changing the spark plugs will help a little in reducing it?

Can you guys READ?

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs...m#Magnuson-Moss

Magnuson-Moss warranty act states that the dealer CANNOT blame any warranted problem on JUST ANY aftermarket product. They have to PROVE that the product is the DIRECT CAUSE of the problem you have. A CAI Has nothing to do with faulty spark plugs and to pay $60 to change plugs is a rip.
