what is the purpose of the test pipe? and where does it go on the exhaust? I know on an exhaust system you have a an exhaust and muffler and possibly a tip and the pipping running back to the cat and the cat to the header. Where and what does the test pipe do? Can someone explain please? thank you.

The testpipe goes in place of the cat, allowing the exhaust gasses to flow more freely.

But the check engine light will come on, and you will not pass emissions either? Correct?

If you are worried about emmissions and legality, then I wouldn't buy a test pipe.

BTW: Congratulations on your new exhaust

I'm not worried aobut legal or illegal just the emissions, in Maryland we have emissions and if the car does nto pass you get fined then have to bring it back. I guess I could always get the pipe keep the cat and when I have to do the emissions I can put the cat on. Does the test pipe add more horespower? And last and final question then you ALL can slap me, does it hurt the car?
