Hello all. I am a new owner of a 2004 Lancer ES with the 2.0. I'm new to Lancers but not to Mitsubishi's. I also have a 2003 Galant GTZ that I am currently building as well. So I bought this car on the cheap but I know nothing about this platform. I actually thought it was a 4g64 when I bought it so its a surprise to know that the 2.0 is a lot differ and I am use to. So I guess my question is what parts can be used to mod this car? Eventually I would love to convert this into an Evo-like build.
So the car was bought with the exhaust cut off after the cat. I thought it would be an easy score to get a catback but I am seeing that they are almost non-existing. So I guess my question is will an EVO 03-06 catback fit with minimal mods? Since I have it i have already replaced the oil pressure sensor and installed a home made short ram intake. The next items on the list is the exhaust (which is why I am asking) and the front brakes need attention.
Please, any info would be helpful. And yes, I am going to be searching this forum next, I just wanted to get a "New guy" thread going. lol
Hey nice to see someone new with a Lancer. Unfortunately not many companies make exhaust for our cars anymore. The best you could do is get the SRS kit as the EVO kits do not fit without modification: https://www.ebay.com/itm/36044590641...4AAOxySE9Q5lWZ
Am I the only one that thinks over $600 is a crazy price for an exhaust? I mean, really? I know the Evo ones are a direct fit but are they close? Appearently everything with this car will have to be modded since its only a short list for bolt ons. Guess ill get a shop to weld on pipe from the cat to the rear and get it legal. Ill venture out later when I have time to spare for it.
Also, I was wonder what would be the best hub and brake upgrade? I'd love to be able to swap out from the 4 lug to the 5 lug, go dual piston calibers, and swap rear drums to rotors.
