Anyone else's SRI make a sucking sound?

I have an eBay SRI and a breather, with the breather hose hole plugged in the intake tube.

When I turn off my car, there's a sucking noise in the vicinity of the SRI, like that last little bit of water going down the drain, for about a half a second.

Anyone else getting this? Is it just my intake backing out the air when my engine stops?

I was wondering about this post, thinking "of course it makes a sucking sound, it's pulling in air" but I'll have to admit I'm not sure why it would continue after shutoff.

Check to make sure your vac hoses are connected snugly, and that they aren't crimped or twisted. If you're concerned it could be water, remove the SRI and make sure there isn't any inside.

rentaslut's description is right. It doesn't make that noise when it's on, other than the normal loud intake noise, but when I turn it off, it's like a dying breath. A gurgling sound.

Maybe it's just that it's sucking in so much air that once it's cut off, that's the sound it makes... ?

Hoses are all ok, no water in the SRI. checked that already.

My RMR sri does this and when I ask the Mitsu dealership that sold it to me about it, they said it was normal. I have gotten use to the noise and I actually like the sound.

Huh. I can't believe I just noticed it, after having my SRI for months. Guess I shouldn't blast my tunes so loud....

Totally normal. I've had two different intakes, they both did it. It's just that last breath of air being sucked in.

i believe that sound is made by the pressures inside your intake equalizing with the outside atmosphere. they make a hissing sound because they have to squeeze around the closed throttle plate. my theory anyway.
