i just threw on my catback system yesterday, and it was incredibly easy(and that was the first time i've even been under a car)
nice avatar greenpsycho...looks like the Green Goblin.
anyways...it's true I should do it myself, and not have to pay just as much as I did for the test pipe for an install. It's just that I'm getting my catback readjusted, probably will have to do some welding anyways, so might as well get the pipe installed too while they're down there. I do a lot of DIY stuff to my car...it's just that I have to look at the factors. I'm such a newbie when it comes to installing stuff to my car. I usually need complete HOW-TO instructions and necessary tools, which I don't have much of. In this case, no jackstands

Yeh I got the GReddy catback exhaust. I'm putting the pipe with it. I'll just see how it is. I've had it for so long sitting around but never got it installed. I'll keep it on till I get headers...then I'll remove the test pipe. Headers + test pipe + catback = loss in torque.
btw...how's the reflectors?

which affects the sound more: swapping cats for test pipe or replacing headers?
i have a catback now and i love the sound and i want to replace the headers, but i don't want it louder or raspy

I put in my test pipe guys. I like the sound...makes my GReddy catback sound more aggressive and deep, not ricey at all. Gives it a low growl sound when I start up on first gear or rev it up. I set off more car alarms though, hehe. Hasn't annoyed me yet, it's pretty cool actually.
The power is great. Car really pulls on mid-end and up. I've only did this once...but top end power is amazing...when I git 6000 rpm redline, car starts to shake, pulls fast, and really resonates loud. I give it a
until I get my headers.

If your going that far you should also be thinking about the RRM piggy back. When you put the header on you will lose a bit of low end. The piggyback will get some of that back and really increase the high end!
man i forgot that i had a test pipe sitting in my garage..i dunno what to do with it. I kinda want to install it to see how it is with stock exhaust, but then i'd have to take it off for autox's
o well.
