Alright, I have been reading up on these P&Ping threads. To sum it up, and someone correct me if I am wrong, there are no real big hp/tq gains to be made from P&P alone? Only one with aspirating mods like headers, tb, im etc...etc.. will gain from P&P and this gain is in the form of allowing those mods to work better...more effeciently? Am I right? Just curious.

That seems to be the case. Some guy I know who works at Midas said he could do a port and polish job. I bet I could get a sweet deal from him. Think it is worth it? And also is it ok to let a guy from Midas do such a job?

RPW offers different stages in porting as well as different "styles" of p&p. for example, those force fed lancers would have a different p&p than a NA lancer. same with nitrous, etc.

Think of it like droping an after-market cam in any stock engine.....it's pointless without other mods. there won't be any real gains to be seen without other supporting mod. indeed, the more you allow the engine to breathe--> the more beneficial p&p would be.

as for pricing...i believe the basic p&p job from RPW starts around $1200. i'm not really in the mood to check right now. as you increase from stage I - stage III prices will obviously increase. IMO, don't bother with a head job unless you are serious about tuning your car...this doesn't mean i don't think it should be done though i should have a 2nd enigne in my garage, this time, next year. that head will be getting some work done to it.

We are coming out with Cylinder head for the Lancer . Ported, polished, valve job and decked. Ports are 20 to 25% larger and price will be $999 with a core head for exchange. Start spreading the word. I will start a thread soon.

I'm glad all these toys weren't available when I had my car. I was already spending way too much!

If you change your cam, might as well do a PnP.

If you only have basic bolt-ons, not worth the effort and money.
