3K,
I beg to differ from what you think is too loud. I have the RRM rear section with 2 1/4 piping. I had the second cat cut off right after the o2 sensor and had 2 1/4 pipe welded from that point mandrel bent with no resonator brought out to the RRM flange and a flange welded so if needed it can be taken apart. And now even all the Honda boys around here love the sound of my exhaust. when i idle it is decently silent and it is a low roar at low revs. But if I punch the throttle it gains a mean sound from mid to high RPMs.
Also I do not find it annoying at all on long trips, since it is my weekday car. Now my 1995 Supra TT 6speed has HKS intake, BOV, downpipe and the Carbon/TI exhasut with 3.75" pipes. Now that is loud, but of course that is the idea.

Now there's a scary thought.

I think what he was pointing out was that the size of the piping is also an issue. 3/4" of piping will sound a lot deeper and probably produce more noise. If it's anything like mine it's loudest in the lower RPMs from about 2k-3.5k. I regularly set off car alarms in parking lots and on the sides of the street. No resonator, but I haven't messed with my cats. Anyway...Glad I don't live in Cali or I'd be ticketed and back on my stock exhaust by now.

Hey, that wasn't the resonator was it? If it was, daym we got some big *** resonators. I'm killin my resonator and putting in piping probably next week. Keep the cats though if you don't wanna get pulled over. If you don't kill the 2nd/mid-exhaist/resonator, you won't feel the full gain for an exhaust. I got mine a week ago, still need piping and gotta kill resonator. God Hayame's are old skool, but they sure do sound nice/anti-civic..

Greddy is producing a cat-back system for the lancer, I'm gonna wait for that.

i will probably upgrade to the greddy cat-back system when it comes available.. but in the meantime i wanted an exhaust so i got the RMR, I cut off the resonator and replaced it with at strait pipe, as i did with the cat. sounds awesome.. but im expecting the greddy to be better

Greddy , smeddy. It is not going to be so much better than anything else. THey are nice but just cause it is Greddy or HKS doesn't mean better.TOMMY HILFIGER exhaust is where it is at!!

I'm with raul on this one. Nothing but a name. Might be easier to just replace the piping and keep the muffler unless you can make a little back reselling it.

Get a Buschur exhaust, right Andrew? I see very little sense in getting anything else for the time being. RMR and RRM are just sections so for another $100 bucks, get yourself a real exhaust and the couple of ponies that go with it.

As long as you can center the tip and keep it sitting properly it's (in my opinion) the best bolt-on exhaust out there.
