engine swap question

Are there any other engines that would fit in the US lancer? If so which would be the best one? I think other post said that no engines would match up nicely but im just checking thanks

your right!!!

transmission matching up is the problem, even within other mitsu product lines this exact combo hasn't been used, plus the trans is junk anywayz. If you want real hp that would require eng. swap then you can get a custom trans too

Everyone wants an Evo engine...yes...because that's practical. Ack. If you're looking for power (and have nearly limitless cash and technical know-how) sure, that's fine. You COULD also get the GDI turbo out of the Cedia BUT that'd cost an arm and BOTH legs but not as much patience as a 'G63. Then you'd also have to figure out how to lower the sulfer content in American gasonline, that is, unless you want the GDI engine exploding. Then there is the possibility of a MIVEC engine swap. That'd cost you upwards of oh say, 5K and depending on which one you'd be able to find you'd have as much trouble as the 'G63 swap. That and you'd only end up with 170~ HP and a nice turbo setup would not only annihilate it, but it'd be about 2k cheaper...engine swaps for this car ARE NOT like in the cookie cutter DC/EK/etc. chassis Hondas. People need to accept that fact and soon.

EDIT: and J is completely right, trannies are another damn problem entirely.

Hahah, well put pjal... Took me awhile to learn that whole deal. 4G63's are tasty and all, but where'd the challenge?
I don't see it if you have the 4G63-T setup and all. Besides, the AWD conversion would be a *****. Whew. That's why I'm just gonna do another crazy thing, like a SOHC>DOHC project.
