Alt. pulley
Direct bolt on. Just a little bit of problem measuring for the new belt. And taking the damn alternator off. I'm very happy with it. I'll post pics as soon as my camera is back in my hands.

Any pulley in the car whether it be the accessory pulley, alternator pulley, etc, takes power from the crank to spin. That's power from the crank that could be spinning other things...like say...the wheels perhaps? So you're reducing functional loss by either lightening the pulley or making it smaller.

You reduce the amount of power wasted on accessories such as AC, ALT, or PS, when the replacement pully is LARGER (not smaller) than the original. The larger pulley means that the accessory in question spins at a rate LESS than stock. Hence the term "underdrive."
Just think of the diameter of the crank pulley vs the one on whatever accessory you're looking at. Small pulley on alternator means it spins faster than the crankshaft so the car can generate sufficient current, especially at idle.
Don't screw with pulleys. There was another thread out there and even ROCK said he's not a fan of them.
