there aren't too many members w/ stage 2, let alone an automatic stage 2. And those who have it, have more than JUST auto stage II modifications. I own a Lancer, ridden in a RRM turbo lancer, and have driven an Evo... I've read up on the numbers of the man. stage II, and the argument seems a bit fallacious to me.

In regards to the original questions, my simple responce was to a simple question... What kind of racing are you talking about??? Drag? from a stop? from a roll? At what speed? So yes, i do know what im talking about.

ok the lancer beating evos where both 5speeds and one of them didnt have a lot mroe done to them. but yes a wrx would probably take it off the line with awd but be taken by the lancer in topend. ive yet to hear results from a 1/4 track tho against a wrx. what is the 1/4 time for a stock wrx? Isnt it in the high 14s? A non stg2 rrm turbo can be in the mid 14s.

to the main question, id say yes. I think its no contest.

once you start getting up to the big mods, and doing everything to your car. the gap between a MT and AT becomes very small. And If the torque converter is upgraded that helps alot too. along with all the other mods, bolt ons, fuel, ems and such.

I think a stage one auto could take the wrx stock or lightly modded. assuming that the lancer also has other mods as well.

auto stage 2 will beat a stock wrx 5speed off the roll(2nd gear)... as for the 1/4 it would be close as the auto would probably catch up... but i'd have to lean toward the wrx as it's launch is going to kill the auto's. On the highway... auto stage 2 all the way.

I've seen stock 5 speeds get into the mid 14's with a good launch. Most i've ran across actually pull around 14.7's consistantly. The main thing to remember is most wrx's aren't stock anymore. I've seen slightly modified(intake/exhaust/mbc) wrx's get into the high 13's. Their launch kills the lancer with ease. That is why you don't want to get in that situation with one. Instead get him on a role or highway shot since then his AWD is more of a hinderance than an advantage.
