Exclamation CAI and snow?

I have an Injen CAI and we just got 4" of snow here. Should I be driving with my CAI or should I replace it with the stock for the winter season? Only reason I'm asking this is because I'm not sure if it would be sucking in a lot of snow..

i would just convert it to short ram just to be safe. don't forget to reset the ecu also. the reason i say that is that u won't suck snow through the filter. it will just cake around it and cause some sorta suffocation. also the filter gets dirty quicker too...

Should be a non issue unless you managed to get a shovelfull of snow into the compartment that's completely not exposed. Then I'd be equally as concerned about it not pulling in air as it pulling in water. Short of submerging the front of the car it's very difficult to get water in there. Even the mesh on the bumper is fake so it's not going to be coming in that way in any large volume.

Well I have no mesh or anything covering the vent hole where the intake is. and if your familar with Injen they make you cut a hole in some under garments and I just removed the peice all togethor which shouldn't effect anything I don't think.

I'm very familiar with it. I recently had to take out my piping because the forked mount snapped off and both prongs separated from the arm...piece...thing.

I think the fear of water ingestion is overplayed. Yes, it's very serious, but unless you're in a flood prone area I wouldn't even keep it in the back of my mind. Snow would be far less of a concern in my estimation.

The computer will eventually learn and adjust based on the new MAS readings, but it expedites the process if you reset the ECU.

Can't you just pull the fuse for a few minutes?

that will work too either way remember to let your car idle for a bit after you put the fuse back in or reconnect the battery, before you hit the gas
