US Evo Parts on US Lancer
I was down at my local 
dealership yesterday chatting it up with the parts guy and we were discussing whether the parts (maintly cosmetic stuff - interior and exterior) composing the soon-to-be launced US Evo would fit on the exisiting US Lancer. Do you guys have any idea about that?
From the looks of the interior on those imported Evo's on the main page of this site, the interiors of the the imported car and the US Lancer look almost identical. This would mean great things for those of us wanting to add some pizazz to our non-Evo lancers. Of course, the interior of the US Evo may be substantially different - that remains to be seen.
Incidentally, the parts guy wasn't convinced that the parts would fit in the US Lancer, but then again, he didn't seem to be as informed as those of us who frequent this site

As for interior, i believe you can easily change the interior of a Lancer into the interior of an EVO. as for exterior you can also. there is a bodykit out there to change the front, fenders, bumper, hood, lights. but as for the rear you can't change that. the evo has wide rear fenders, and different tail lights.

Cusco sells strut bars for the Evolution 7 and I'm wondering if it will fit the US Lancer since we share the same body. If you look inside the Evolution and look at the US Lancer, the place where the bars would be installed look identical. So, can anybody confirm???

The interiors, between the two: go nuts. Everything else...maybe. To say the chassis are the same is saying a lot that isn't true. Similar yes, but not the same. The brace might fit but In all honesty, it probably ends their. Rear suspension is completely different, wider fenders all around, different rear doors...the list goes on.
The rear trunk and tails can be converted, but i believe it takes a good bit of work. tightlancer has done it for one. You may want to find out from him how difficult it would be if you're really interested. I don't know if it's through a kit or custom body work, but it's been done.
