Carbon fiber front bumper

Hey, I have an 02 Lancer ES and looking to replace my bumper sometime cause it has a dent from an accident and it's been like that for over a year. I was thinking a carbon fiber bumper would be lighter, but I can't seem to find any for my model. Do they make any for the ES series, how much if so (approx.), and would there be weight improvement from the stock bumper?

whatever body kit fits on an OZ will fit on an es unless your looking for like a carbon fiber OZ lip, which i think fits also, but dont quote me on that, hope that helps a bit

You could get one made by someone but really whats the point? Carbon fiber on the front end of a front wheel drive car seems kinda counter productive to me. Wouldn't you be better off with a carbon fiber trunk if your looking for actual advantageous wieght reductions? Plus a carbon fiber front bumper would be a ***** to repair if it ever came to that.

lip is an add on so its no big deal but i agree with you on the bumper and for hoods too.

ok, so on a front wheel drive car, you want to have better weight reduction on the back? From one site I saw, cf trunks were about twice as much (in price) as the hoods..

Depends entirely what you want. If you want looks then yeah a carbon fiber hood can be a great addition. If you want performance or rather theoretical performance you want to lighten up the rear end of a FWD car so it goes from this --- to like that /. If you have like an Evo or a Viper or something that actually uses the rear wheels then you want a carbon fiber hood or in the case of an Evo both a carbon fiber hood and trunk.
