hey icecube, i have an Auto RIPP lancer, once the car is coming back to me ill be swapping the tranny, well once i have the money. You can find a tranny for your lancer at a junkyard, check everything out. shop around.. i don't htink the tranny swap has been done on our cars.. there was this guy who used to be on this forum who was close to doing it but soemthing about his parents saying no and s***. But i have contacted with that person and i'll be puchasing the 5spd from him very soon. it all depends, the tranny this guy is selling me has almost everything, all i need is a the 3rd pedal. cable links and the shifter but i'm goin to use a short shifter anyways. it ranges. and i'll be installing this with a freind and the person who i'll be buying the tranny from. if you have a mechanic do the swap you will be looking at 900 for labor or something like that. my friend bought a new tranny for his rex and paid that amount for labor. look around, call for prices and plan what you are goin to do.. if i get mine done before you i will let you know how everything went. good luck

im pretty sure i was the on who you guys were talkign about i was supposed to do the swap with lancer123 (or some numbers like that) you need to swap ecus, wiring harnesses, pedel sets, you need to cut out the 3rd brake pedal mount from the manual and screw and weld it into the auto, you need to swap radiators, probably axels, clutch and flywheel for tq converter and that plate (i forget what its called flex plate ro somethring like that), swap all the auto shifter cables for the manual ones and the interior peices and shifter bases.
i think i got everything i might have left somehting out

i already cut out my pedel plate out of the interior as doing the pedals i think is the hardest part
all that being said i got another 5 spd tranny for sale if anyone wants one

liquid lancer, yes i was talkin about you and lancer 123 or whatever. ive spoken to lancer123 out of the forums about purchasing the tranny. we already made a deal on a price and once i have the money i'll be purchasing Mike's tranny. Thats too bad that you guys couldn't finish the job. u guys just started and didn't get to finish. but anywayz. Mike told me all i need is a 3rd pedal, shifter and cable links and i'm good to go with the installaion. whats all this about changin axle and radiator? do i really need to go buy those 2?

yea lol you do you need the ecu and engine wiring harness too
the tranny is here so i dont knwo what happend with a price or whatever last i knew i had ownership of it (at least thats what i though ?)
the radiator from the auto will work for the manual but the radiator from the manual will not work for the manual
the automatic radiator has a tranny coller built into it you can take the lines off it and drain it out and use it for the 5 spd
as far is you talking to mikle abotu that tranny swap dont get me wrong hes a smart kid
but as far as the actual swap and mechanical part of it i know how the whole deal goes he was just cmongi along for the ride
he sold out and bough a subie anyway lol

arithmetic, i already have the SDS from RIPP mods lol, well my ecu i can change at RIPPmods simply by pluggin into there computer and flashing it.. mmmmmm technology these days man lol, um liquid lancer, how much will wiring harnest cost me. yea too be he went for the subie.. but anyways liquid lancer, if you know the whole deal would you like to come help with the swap. i would love for you and mike to come and help. both sound like you know what your doing and i think u should come here with you lancer and mikes subie. i'll be using a body shop to work on the car so thats good, lifts and tools!!!

so let me clear this up liquidlancer so i know how much money to save.
besides buying mikes tranny
i need 3rd pedal, cable linkange, shifter(for me i'm just goin for short shifter) ECU will be flashed at RIPP andengine wiring harnest? anything else? how much will all that add up to excluding the flashing ecu and the tranny... i want to make sure everything goes well! this will be a fun project which will lead me to a fun car!

yea i was thinking of doing the samething but since i dont know how to do any of it on my own, its probably going to cost me a fortune. buying the parts is probably going to be a fortune just by itself. maybe in the future i dunno
