Evo VII wait list
Evo VII wait list
I went to my dealer and put my name on the wait list. I asked if I couldn't put money down and enter into a contract. The sales manager showed me the law that does not allow people to enter into a binding contract without at least a VIN number. So a lot of you might want to research the validity of your contract with your dealer.
Not saying I doubt anyone here just trying to help everyone get a fair deal, later.

It doesnt seem right that your putting money down on a car that they cant guarantee you. There is only going to be 3000 released to distributors in America. And then the distros decide which dealership gets what. Thats why its against the law for them to take your money without a VIN number. You basically are guaranteed nothing. You basically paid to be put in line on a wait list along with everyone else who stopped by. And trust me if a sales manager can sale a vehicle at 5k over the sticker he will forget your contract. Your contract does not guarantee you a specific car it only guarantees you a car at MSRP. You will only be offered a car if they have one that is not sold or not claimed. A dealer is there to make money not make you happy.
Basically they just took my info down and said they'd call... hardly a waitlist to me. The best thing to do is find a dealer that caters to racers. Davis Acura is like that and they never sold Type-Rs over MSRP. Hopefully there's a
dealer out there like that.

Look at it this way. A dealer gets 3 Evo VIIs and has 3 guys willing to pay 5 grand over MSRP. And then there is you with a contract for one at MSRP. Who do you think is leaving the lot with the EVO VII. Until you get a VIN number on that contract your contract is useless! Did they even assign a salesmen to you?
