Recall
Recall
I've searched the forum and even though this question was asked no one responded to it. If someone has, I am sorry for asking again. I have an appointment scheduled for the recall to be done and I was wondering if I have to take out my piggyback unit? I don't want my warranty voided.
^ I thought there was aswell. I was asuming that but I wanted to be sure. Maybe there was another that I didnt know about yet. If its the fan controller i couldn't see them finding your piggy back... But Iam not postiive.
just got my recall done today i dont have a piggy back but i do have a axel back exhaust and k&n sri and they didnt say nothin to me about voiding the warranty but i was scared they were gonna kill my warranty so would they tell me if they voided it or just void it with out tellin me>?
warrnty and recalls two differnt things, if they do the recall and see mods they may void your warrnty but warrnty is when something breaks basicaly just on your lets say stock car to make it simple.
and a recall is a mass breakage of a part along a specific line / lines of cars. recalls does not matter if you have mods they will still replace what ever was recalled. ( unless its no longer their )
hope that helps your question.
depends on if they see your piggy back and they make notes of it being in their and if the dealer wants to void your warrnty because of it.

Thanks for the replies. I know that a warranty and a recall are two different things. But, specifically I just wanted to know if they are working on something on your car and they see something (ie piggyback and/or testpipe) something that isn't suppose to be there will they make note of it for future references so that they can have an excuse to void your warranty.

yes they can and they have
i have my avcr ( eletronic boost controler in my evo ) and had my warrnty voided because of it even tho i have no issues with my car and they just liked sayin my warrnty was voided.
if you do have issues with your car down the road you would have to fight to get it coverd under warrnty and its normaly easier cheaper for you to pay outa your pocket. because they are spost to prove beyond a dought that what ever mod was done to the car caused the failure even tho iv had no failures execpt for syncros in my car i still technicaly have no warrnty and im not worryed cuz the evo seems to be a rock .
i went to get my recall done, i've got my aem cai and magnecor plugs and they never mentioned anything bout my warranty, honestly i dont think they could care. i only think that they would care if you brought the vehicle in on a tow truck saying my motor blew and they pop the hood to see a fat turbo sittin there. but mitsubishi really is out to get those guys with the evos, the evo is a hot car to modify, and mitsubishi doesnt wanna fork out the money to replace that 4g93 motor, of course, i wouldnt wanna fork out the money for a new one of those either. but to answer the question, they shouldnt say anything unless the dealership is a bunch of dicks, which most mitsubishi dealers are, but mine just let me drive off into the sunset..

even tho its not relative to the mentioned recall...i have painted my brake calipers red, and i asked them to look at my brakes cause of the ticking sound im sure you all have heard form the front brakes....they said no problem. it didnt matter that i had torn my brakes apart myself. concord mitsu in nor cal is pretty cool with stuff like that. ive seen a couple of moded evos/ OZs in there. they are pretty chill i think

yes. call you local dealer and set up an appointment. should take about 30minutes or so.
Exactly what models is there a recall for? Year and model? I have a 02 ES but haven't gotten a letter or anything saying anything about a recall. Did you guys just know to go to them, or did you get a letter or something in the mail ?
