i'm going to stop modding my lancer. saving up for another more powerful car sounds like a lot better idea. The lancer is a great way to get around, but for me its not worth it risking blowing up my daily driver just for a bit more power.

I would either save up and use the lancer as a daily driver. (the 2 would look very nice together.

Or sell the lancer and use it as a downpayment for the evo. Part it out first tho so u can get more money. (This would probably be ur most easy route to getting an evo)

Before ur ready to go get the evo tho, keep in mind the payments each month along with the insurance. Insurance is a bish. I would try to get atleast more than half saved up then get a loan.

You could buy a used evo for around 24+ grand. Save up around 15k or more, and ur payments wont be totally bogus. Maybe 200 or more a month, but then there is that insurance

GL with whateva u do

Well btw, thanks for your opinions. Well about two weeks ago I was thinking selling my car, I even made a thread at Private for Sale forum, but I decided not to because I'm going to lose my money, and plus reg. lancer is a really great car to get around, expecially now gas are expensive. I'm going to keep the lancer since it was my 1st brand new car and use it as daily driver car, probably the last thing I want to do is to get some 17s rims and thats it. (I can't sell my body kit since I sold my oz lip and oz ss.)

This is how my car look right now

I think I'm fine with the evovii bumper, its not that bad at all at person and the rear look stock. My car is not paid off yet.

Hmmm... where's the choice for "engine swap." Evo's are really awesome cars, no doubt, I just don't know about payin' 30k+ for a new one. And going used on a turbo car is always risky business.

i say keep modding. make your car unique. get some type of forced induction, and you'll love it all over again.

i wish i would have waited, the oz is ok, but something bout an evo gives me a hard one. maybe its the 271hp, or the sexy look, or knowing that the evo stock would smoke anything around my town. call me stupid, but save up and get that evo!

Fix it up more if you want or just keep as it is. I wouldn't save up for an EVO. It's not worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome car, I just wouldn't want to have to work overtime just to keep up with the payments. Not only will you pay over MSRP for it (and the resale value is still high), it is less reliable than the base Lancer (and more expensive to fix) and your insurance will be higher. I recommend you look at what the realistic costs are to own an EVO and then consider if you are willing to spend the money for it.

You should only buy a car you can reasonably afford. If you can afford an EVO, then go for it. Just don't break your back for it....unless...that is what you want. Some guys literally LIVE for their cars. I wouldn't. I wouldn't devote my life to a single material object. But hey, whatever makes you happy.

Maybe you could meet it half-way. I mean the base Lancer starts off quite slow. The EVO is one high-powered machine. Maybe you can look into getting something in between? Maybe a Civic SI or SRT-4? Impreza WRX (not STI)? Celica GTS? You can figure, the more money you spend on getting a car, the less you can mod it. Yea you could have an EVO but you wouldn't be able to afford as much to customize it than a lesser priced car.

But if you want to stick with Mitsu and love Lancers, then maybe a Ralliart? I heard a decently turbo'd Ralliart will beat a stock EVO. Figure, 18k for Ralliart + 3-5k for turbo/tuning/work/etc and you have a car faster than a 30k (or more) Lancer. That's why the Ralliart was made...for people that liked Lancers and wanted a fast one but couldn't afford an EVO. I see a lot of potential with that car.

23k evo I found this evo on autotrader.com. 23k evo from Bellingham, about 80 miles from Seattle. Cheapest evo I've seen so far in Washington, I wish I have 5-7g right now and use it as downpayments.

^^^ CORY is on the money... Right here is where u put a reality check on your wishes. If your arent making the $$$ to drive an EVO... Keep your lancer.... RRM is now Experimenting with a new turbo on their drag car... (STAGE 3??? could it be ???) 20G turbo!! WHOO Hoo

i sure as hell wouldnt wanna work overtime or get a 2nd job to keep up w/ my payments. Yeah i'd have a car that's on every tuner mag.. but my quality of life would suck.. I dont think i'll own an evo untill AFTER i buy a house or something... i dunno the decision is on the individual. bottom line i say Keep the lancer.. wait for stage 3... or what ever rrm will wish to call it.

The thing is, if i get an evo, me and my brother (loves evo like me) will share the payments. So that will be fine. Anyways the lancer will be staying at my house and past the payments to my other brother who needs a car. Well kidlancer, thanks for your opinion. RRM is great company and makes great products, but their turbo is just too much for me, even I have the money to buy, I wouln't buy it, but their turbo is really nice. Whatever works for me, I'll see it in a year from now.
