It's all really up to you. I mean if you're looking for a car that's going to run 13's or 12's on the track, you're going to need to put a lot of money and effort into the Lancer. The evo might make it easier for you to get there. But if you are looking for a car to be truely your own, and be somewhat fast, i would stay with the lancer. There are plenty of mods out for it and i'm sure you can usually find a decent price on what you want to buy as your mods.
I personally am where you are at right now and have decided to save up for a body kit and or turbo for the future. Body kit is sounding the best right now.
GL with whatever you decide.

Yeah, it's really up to me. I'll just wait another year and see what they will offer for Lancer (like rear disc kit, cheaper turbo kit, etc) or see if evo resale price will go down at least 23-20k.

I'm thinking the same thing as most of you guys... continue work on my Lancer or save up. I haven't spent much on my Lancer. Although after seeing the new Eclipse I'm thinking the GT might be a little cheaper than the Evo.

evo is a nice car , but in my opinion its more fun 2 turn a stock car like a lancer and build it up and make it look better than an evo and make it just as fast! u probally wont make it faster than an evo but u can make it just as fast! 2 your liking!

i would save up for the evo. i love my lancer but if i could get an evo i would do it in a heartbeat. Evo's come from the factory lookin sexy and fast. You don't see as many of them either.
