Poll: New(13 models) or current used to reduce monthly costs, which car?

With still trying to finish college up and with having a rough job now then I used to since last April, money has been a lot tighter for me where Evo is draining me plus other bills/etc, mainly monthly payment, gas, oil changes, etc combined. So I've been thinking of switching to either a new car thats inexpensive, or a used car to save costs, which one would you choose, or just continue to live with evo till I get my career going? lol.

Selling your Evo X and buying any of those cars is going to save you very little.. Plus, if you buy a new car, it'll devalue much faster than your Evo and end up being an additional expense. If you're trying to save money, your list of cars is pretty far off, and there shouldn't be any new ones on there either..... imo

Keep the EVO and tough it out. If you just can't do it, I wouldn't even consider a sporty car as a replacement, nor would I consider an SUV or Truck. Consider a used Honda, Kia, Hyundai, or Toyota. Focus on what brings you lower monthly payments (if you're going by how much you pay a month, not always a good thing), lower insurance rates, etc; you know the drill.

Jump out of the EVO now, you might have a tougher time getting back into one. If you value the car, see where else you can make some cuts to free up cash to set aside for reoccurring maintenance costs. On the other hand, if you get offered a great deal on trade or sale, I wouldn't ignore it.

Good Luck!

I love the evo, its just tough filling up once a week at $43+ and my monthly payment, plus many other bills. Money is tighter than I used to have it, with a different job and dealing with college. I like my new job but pay is less. I've held on since April but its getting tighter and tighter. I'm the type that likes to have a certain amount saved in my accounts every month and lately I've been way below that after paying everything. I mean technically I could keep going, just live paycheck to paycheck till I graduate in the spring hopefully. I like to vent what I'm thinking and get pointers, so I mean I'd love to keep the evo, best car I've ever had, and its sexi as f*ck haha. If I could just get a hold of a few hundred bucks to get my savings up I'd be good.

After this, I'm just gonna see what happens, my best friend (who drives our rival the sti) has the same problem as me and he's shopping so its what got me started, if I come across a deal for a car that I like and would save $, I'll do it, otherwise hope I can hang tight, might be worth living to the last dollar every month for the evo haha

There are only two ways to look at it, you can either live for the things you love or live within your means. It all depends on what you're willing to sacrifice within reason, does it mean missing out on a few nights out for beers or does it mean not eating or paying the electric bill?

I could bring in my personal views but I'm the kind of wreckless son of a ***** that doesn't care as long as I'm within a certain comfort zone and there is beer in the fridge.

I'll live with what I love. If I could get my bbs pc black or gunmetal and get my car lowered I'd be so happy. I'm tryin to trade my bbs and I'd be happy to keep evo. I love her so much. Thanks for the replies man I appreciate it. Moderators can close this thread once you read this.
