hit 92k last week. replaced tires once, but they're going. haven't changed out brake pads, but they're going too. this car is damn reliable. 0 problems. This is with a lot of engine braking double clutching to 2nd gear from 60 mph ALL THE TIME. yeah, tranny is in danger, but it has held up for the past 92k without any show of damage. don't think it's gonna break any time soon, but at 92k, i'm prepared for it already.

once a month i drive home from skool. about 200 miles. once a month i try to drive down to socal for the SCLC meets. its usually between 200-350 miles. once i get home, my girlfriend lives 50 miles away. the miles have racked up since Dec '01. and then there's "gratuitous" driving.

^hehe. my sister won't let her bf run her corolla XRS against me. don't think i'd beat it, but it'd be fun. with a rpw header, we're pretty much on par with the 'S'.

Baaah, XRS is easy pickings... they run 7.6 and 16.1 times respectively (autoweek television show).

Shoot I forgot about the recall. I need to go get that done.

What mileage did you change your timing belt rhyzin? I have to be close to getting that done soon and that's a 300 job I am sure.

changed belts at about 70-75k. i think it could hold out til 90-100k, but thats with cali weather. the old belts were still good and didn't look all too worn. the old water pump seemed like it was still in good condition as well. oh well. i probably would have had to do it next week if i didn't back then.

I have a 88 Dodge Caravan, which has a misubishi engine in it, with over 175k miles on it. That was a major reason for me to buy a mitsubishi for my first new car. And I wouldn't call a Lancer a first generation car, seeing how they have been built for around years over seas. I understnad your point about scions and the others though. I just clicked 40k n my 02 OZ a few weeks ago and all is well. I keep everything changed and tuned, and I don't dog it out. Can't afford to go fixing something if I break it ;-)
